On Tuesday the Forster-Tuncurry festival dropped the line-up for its third edition on January 12 and it’s seriously stacked.
Sydney Brit-pop revivalists DMAs headline the bill, alongside Wollongong surf-rock buzz band Hockey Dad, The Preatures and Jack River herself.
Completing the line is triple j favourite Mallrat, Totty, Goons Of Doom, Mild West, Mini Skirt and Newcastle’s Belle Badi.
Rankin launched Grow Your Own in December 2016 at Club Forster to provide youth in the mid-north coast NSW holiday town with musical culture.
Angus Stone’s solo project Dope Lemon headlined the first year and then Cloud Control, Skegss and The Belligerents performed at the second edition in December 2017.
Grow Your Own has joined forces with Byron Bay promoter Secret Sounds (Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Download) and expanded its home at Harry Elliott Oval in Tuncurry to increase its capacity.
“We’re deeply excited to present Grow Your Own’s biggest line up yet, with acts coming from all over the country as well as many from our own backyard,” Rankin said.
“Our homegrown ethos runs through every cell of the festival, right down to the fences and the food - it's our mission to value all things local, sustainable and alive.
“We wanted to create the perfect getaway, full of summer anthems and all the grit and guitars that make Australian music feel like home.”
Tickets are on sale at 9am Thursday via moshtix.
