The family favourite festival also includes a car display, live performances, food stalls and a children’s activity tent.
Oyster lovers can once again compete in the annual oyster eating competition.
Close to 180 people went into the draw for the competition last year. In heats of five entrants, competitors race to down a dozen oysters.
The person with the fastest time goes into the final, where they then eat another two dozen oysters and the person with the fastest time wins.
Another big attraction is the popular wood chopping championship, which saw more than 30 people compete last year. The wood chopping starts at 10am.
The top 8 choppers from the morning’s events then enter in the second event which moves inside to the RSL Club for a slower, more strategic chopping finale, beginning at 6pm.
There will also be the great Karuah River Duck Race.
Visitors can pay $5 to sponsor a rubber duck and later int he day watch all 300 as they are tipped off the Karuah Bridge, with a race to the finish line.
The first numbered duck to float across the finish line about 200 meters down the river wins.
With fifty per cent of the money raised from the total duck sponsorship up as prize money and shared between the top 3 performers, it’s well worth a punt.
Last year’s winner walked away with a quacking $300.
