If the sight of power boats racing gets your juices flowing, then make sure you grab a river side seat on Saturday, as the Raymond Terrace Aquatic Club hosts a power boat spectacular on the Hunter River at Riverside Park, Raymond Terrace.

The Carpet Court Power Boat Spectacular kicks off Saturday October 13 at 9am and will wrap up by 5pm. Entry for Spectators is free, with food, coffee and refreshments available from Port Stephens Rotary. Bring a chair along and enjoy a day of exciting power boat racing on the grassy banks of the Hunter River. Pits will be opened during the lunch break for those spectators keen to inspect the boats.
The competition attracts entrants from as far as Queensland, Sydney, Windsor as well as competitors from local areas. Both outboard and inboard boats will compete over various classes with plenty of action and speed in store.
The faster boats will reach speeds of over 200kph on the oval shaped course with straights of 600 metres. The top boats will compete in the coveted Hunter Valley Championship on a point score basis over two heats.
