The tough competitor who did the hard yards in the lead up to the Gold competed in a 20-knot southerly that created sloppy conditions.
Parker completed the marathon in time of 5 hours and 53 minutes which saw him finish 16th in his division and 98th overall in a star studded field.
The event consisted of a 22 kilometre ski paddle, 3.5km swim, 9km run and 6.5km board paddle.
The busy Nelson Bay water policeman combined his work commitments with a hectic training schedule in the lead up to the event.
Four talented Nelson Bay junior rugby players were selected in the NSW under-15 rugby team that competed in the national competition.
Freeman Kerapa, Toby Fraser, Liam Page and Logan Fenwick competed in the Junior Gold Cup, which was split in to two conferences.
The Bay boys, in the southern conference, played their final at Woollahra Oval in Rose Bay.
The grand-final will be played against the northern conference in Brisbane.
Birubi Point Surf Club has a proud history of serving beach-goers over the years and continues to grow with young lifesavers coming up through the ranks.
The club nippers will conduct their swim test and family fun day at Tomaree Aquatic Centre this Sunday between 9am and noon.
The senior club will continue their SRC and bronze courses.
Several new faces started the course last weekend.
Fingal Beach Surf Club nippers will hit the water this Sunday after their swim evaluation tests at Tomaree Aquatic Centre last Sunday.
Before the nippers start at 9.30am the senior club’s director of surf sports, Eddy Bergsma, will conduct a water craft clinic to anyone that would like to learn board or ski skills.
This starts at 8.15 am.
Eddy will continue his role as official starter of the Streets Surf Boat Series which caters for more than 60 crews in different divisions from the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast surf clubs.
The first boat series starts this Saturday at Terrigal surf club followed by Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest (November 4).
Scotts Head Surf Life Saving Club will host their first carnival in December, a double header on December 8 and 9.
The series will move to Umina (January 6), Stockton (January 20) and end at Soldiers Beach (March 16).
