Andrey Martynov, 9, is now ranked fifth in Australia for level four double mini and 15th for level four trampoline after a standout performance at the 2018 Gold Coast National Clubs Gymnastic Carnival on September 17.
His sister Kyra Martynov, 11, showed significant improvement at the national carnival and moved up 40 places in the rankings.
Kyra is now ranked 24th in Australia for level four trampoline and 30th for level four double mini.
Kate Martynov, mother of the pair and one of their coaches from Zone Active in Taylors Beach, said Kyra’s trampoline outcome was excellent as she competed in a “massive” field of 115 trampolinists.
“Amazing results for two very hard working athletes who demonstrated focus, resilience and a great attitude,” Kate said.
The national rankings came after the Martynov siblings plus fellow Zone Active gymnasts Koa Fumiaono, 10, and Phoenix Julian, 11, ended their state championships campaign with top eight placings.
The State Championships Gymnastics competition was held at Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre on September 8 and 9.
Andrey placed second for level four trampoline and Koa second in level three double mini.
