A team of 15 Port cyclists have covered more than 5000 kilometres and raised $19,000 for sick children as part of the month-long Great Cycle Challenge.

Robert Miller from Port Stephens Cycle Group said the group has received great support from Port Stephens and Newcastle businesses to help them reach their fund-raising targets.
“We’ve had great support,” he said. “It’s really motivated us to keep riding.”
On Tuesday, the group was ranked third nationally for having raised the greatest amount of funds, which supports the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
The group charts its trips on the Port Stephens Cycle Group Facebook page.
Their fundraising page, under Team PSG, on greatcyclechallenge.com.au is also updated regularly. Donations can also be made through the page.
The group’s target is 6500km.
