Raymond Terrace Lions Club, back to host the carols for a second year, has joined forces with a number of Seaham community organisations to make the 2018 event an even greater success.
“We have enhanced the event this year with the addition of a jumping castle and professional performers,” Bob Findley OAM from Raymond Terrace Lions Club said.
“Funds for these have come from a Port Stephens Council cultural grant to the Lions club.
“Profits from sales [on the night] will go towards Lions’ Hunter drought appeal.
“Additionally, the local Scouts, RFS the Seaham Park committee will benefit.”
The 2018 Seaham Park carols will be held on Saturday, December 8. The event will kick off at 5.30pm.
Raymond Terrace Lions hosted the community carols in Seaham Park for the first time in 2017.
The club responded to a request from residents and former parishioners of Seaham Anglican Church, following its closure, to host the carols.
“The church had hosted an event in the church grounds for many years,” Mr Findley said.
The club, helped by Seaham Park Committee, Seaham Rural Fire Brigade, Scouts and community members, returns with a bigger and better program this year featuring more children’s activities, a visit by Santa and music by professional entertainers.
Performers on the night will be father-daughter duo Emil and Saralyn Matla – also known as Sass and Boss.
The event is free.
It is supported by Port Stephens Council, MarketPlace Raymond Terrace and McDonald Jones Homes.
Residents are asked to take along a chair, torch and insect repellent.
There will be food and drinks available to purchase on the night.
