What: Christmas carols in the park. Performances by the Karuah Public School choir and other singers, dancers, a visit by Santa, children under 12 receive a free sausage sandwich. Free event. All are welcome.
Carols under the Christmas tree
Where: Old Rectory, Raymond Terrace
When: Friday, December 7 from 6pm
Hosted by: Raymond Terrace Bowling Club
What: Performances by local schools, St John’s Anglican church Choir, Old Rectory cafe will be open, Santa, MarkeeP, jumping castle, candles to be handed out. All who attend will be given a raffle ticket. The name drawn will flick the switch to turn on the Norfolk pine tree Christmas lights.
Medowie Christmas Carnival
Where: Ferodale Sports Complex, Medowie
When: December 7, from 4pm
Hosted by: Rotary Club of Williamtown
What: The carnival will feature a range of children’s rides and amusements, artisan market stalls, gourmet food vendors, live music, giveaways, entertainment and activities involving schools, sport, dance, community groups and businesses. Carols headliner is The Voice finalist and Port Stephens resident Anyerin Drury. Free entry.
Seaham Park Carols
Where: Seaham Park, Seaham
When: Saturday, December 8 from 5.30pm
Hosted by: Lions Club of Raymond Terrace
What: Children’s activities, jumping castle, a visit by Santa, music and carols by professional entertainers. Free entry. BYO chair, torch and mozzie repellent.
Carols on the Green
Where: Tilligerry RSL Sports Club, Tanilba Bay
When: Saturday, December 8 from 5.30pm
Hosted by: Tilligerry RSL Sports Club
What: Musical performances by Gina Jeffreys, Lyn Bowtell, Karen O’Shea and Kate Ballantyne, Tanilba Bay Public School children, a Tilligerry dance troop, Daniel Thompson, Tommy Contor, Max Jackson and TJ Hamilton, visit by Santa, 9pm fireworks. Entry is $2. BYO food but no drinks.
Carols at the Bay
Where: Neil Carroll Park, Nelson Bay
When: Sunday, December 9 from 5.30pm
Hosted by: Baylife church on behalf of the Combined Churches of the Tomaree Peninsula
What: Performances from schools, Port dance and talent groups including the SeaSide Singers community choir, Santa, main carols headlined by The Voice finalist and Port Stephens resident Anyerin Drury. Free entry. Market and food stalls. BYO blanket or chair.
Christmas picnic in Anna Bay
Where: Robinson Reserve, Anna Bay
When: Sunday, December 9 from noon
Hosted by: South Tomaree Community Association
What: Christmas picnic in Robinson Reserve, Anna Bay. The event, which will feature the arrival of Santa, is open to all residents in the Port Stephens area. There will be a free sausage sizzle, lolly bags for the kids and camel rides. The group is looking get more people involved in community activities.
