The church will screen the 2017 animated Christian comedy film The Star and run a guessing game called What’s in the Box?
The movie will screen at 9.30am. Guesses for the Christmas mystery boxes are to be handed in no later than 10.30am on December 16. The game invites people to guess what items are inside an age specific Christmas mystery box.
There are nine items in each box that add up to the monetary value of $50. The entry sheet for the Christmas mystery gift game includes a list of 30 items.
The entrant must tick nine items on the entry form that they believe is in the box.
All members of the community are invited to guess what is in the boxes by completing an entry form. Only one guess per age category can be made.
There is a different box and entry form for the four different age brackets – 0-4, 5-11, 12-18 and 19 plus.
“This means that both children and adults can join in the Christmas fun,” Nelson Bay Baptist Church Pastor Andrew East said. “The mystery gift box idea has been a great hit so far. Children and adults are really enjoying the challenge and cannot stop trying to work our what is in the boxes.”
The entry with the closest answer for each mystery box will be announced at the free family barbecue after The Star screening and service. Guessing game entry sheets are available now from the church on Government Road.
