Openers started the run chase in style. Joey Clarke was impressive with 110 including 11 fours.
Fellow opener Dave McDonnell chipped in with 30 runs to fall just short at 9-225. Best of the bowlers was Matt Sharpe, 3-61, and Josh Brown, 2-32.
The B2 team flew the flag for the Bay defeating Red Head all out for 189.
The Bay 5-190 opener Sean Fitzpatrick had a neat 67 runs. Big hitting Ross Turnball blasted 79 runs including 14 fours.
The bowlers were strong with Troy Zadow, 3-38. Dave Conners and Tom Marshall captured two wickets each.
Fingal Bay Rugby League Club has announced its coaches for the upcoming 2019 season.
The Bomboras men’s team will have two coaches at the helm. Experienced men’s team coach Bo Earl will be joined by retired player Cameron Scully to mentor the team.
The ladies league tag team will be coached by Mel Hodson. After the side’s successful first season last year Hodson will be looking to help young players into the game.
Training starts on Tuesday, January 15 from 6pm at Fingal Oval.
Fingal Beach Surf Club is ready to hold its 13th annual Masters carnival on Saturday, January 19.
Starting at 9am, the day will see competitors from Newcastle, Central Coast and Sydney competing in a range of beach and water disciplines.
