This will be the annual NSW Seniors Festival concert and afternoon tea, to be staged in the Seascapes Room at Soldiers Point Bowling Club on Friday, February 22 from 2pm.
The concert is free but places are limited to 100 seniors over the age of 60.
Would-be concert-goers are advised to book their spot by February 15.
The theme this year is Singing for Health.
“This year’s concert will feature some fun songs and a couple of the songs we learnt in Japan, as well as the usual sprinkling of songs that seniors know and love,” choir president Jeanette Antrum said.
To promote this theme, the SeaSide Singers are encouraging seniors who like to sing to head along and join the community choir.
“The rewards are huge – meet new friends, reduce the loneliness caused by social isolation and experience the wonderful feeling as the endorphins released by singing together flood through your body,” Antrum said.
The choir meets at the community centre in Tomaree Library every Tuesday night for two hours starting 7pm.
Inquiries and bookings can be made through Antrum on 0418 266 393 or by email to jaf.antrum@gmail.com.
