Centre publicity officer Deidre Hall said that searing heat plagued the weekend with temperatures reaching 40 degrees and climbing much higher on the synthetic surface.
“With competitors travelling from all over country NSW, the 15 athletes from Raymond Terrace were tested to their limits,” Deidre said.
“But they should be congratulated for their efforts in overcoming the quality competition and horrendous temperatures to show amazing endurance and bring home 22 medals.”
