The Paterson MP expressed her gratitude to the men and women for their service and sacrifice during times of both war and peace.
“I was honoured to present Certificates of Appreciation to veterans from Port Stephens, Maitland and Kurri Kurri area, who have proudly served our nation. The certificates recognise their service during war, conflicts and peacekeeping operations that have taken place since the Second World War,” Ms Swanson said.
“The presentation provided our community with another opportunity to express thanks for the contribution these local men and women have made to our nation.
"No matter what age or ability, each of the recipients donned their best attire and their medals. It was a really important way to salute their service.”
