The hard working Fingal Beach Surf Life Saving Club volunteers and community had a wonderful reason to celebrate on Saturday when Grace Hewitt won a gold medal in the under-15 beach sprint at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships at North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club.
This gave Grace a rare trifecta of wins after taking out the branch title, state title and now the Aussie title.
Three other Fingal competitors proved very competitive in this elite surf carnival.
Brady Stewart finished 12th in the gruelling 2 kilometre swim and made the quarter finals of the board and ironman events in the under-14s.
Sister Logan Stewart finished 14th in the under-17 swim while consistent distance performer Will Clark finished 5th in the under-14 2km beach run.
The next mission for Warwick and Audrey Hewitt, the proud parents of Grace, is to get their talented daughter to the national athletic championships at Homebush on Thursday.
