The money will be used to install flood lights at the Ferodale Park courts, a sound/speaker system that will also cover the adjoining AFL and cricket ovals, more seating and shower cubicles in the change rooms.
Meryl Swanson, the federal member for Paterson, presented a cheque to representatives from the club on March 27
"The Medowie Netball Club is an asset to our community. The executives, coaches, volunteers and parents all work extremely hard for players and this grant recognises their hard work," Ms Swanson said.
"This grant will go a long way for the Medowie sporting community.
"Within their application, the netball club generously included an upgrade to the PA system for the AFL and cricket oval, and female bathrooms to accommodate for the increase of female participation across all three sports."
Medowie Netball Club applied for a grant through round two of the Community Sport Infrastructure Grants program to upgrade the grounds at Ferodale Park.
Netball is Australia's number one participation sport. That is why, Ms Swanson said, the Labor government has committed to investing $20 million to support the sport.
In the lead up to the federal election, due to be held in the coming months, Labor has committed to supporting Netball Australia's grassroots participation and engagement program that would "ensure a strong future for netball".
