Football club president Ben Reynolds said that the sponsorship, worth in excess of $10,000 including hundreds of gift vouchers for players, had been a perfect fit with the football club's mission and values.
The club has in excess of 580 registered players this season, with a total of 58 boys and girls teams - 50 juniors and eight seniors.
"When we went looking for sponsors this season we made it clear they would align with the club's values ... having a strong community spirit, family friendly and a grassroots ethos," Mr Reynolds said.
"Nelson Bay Bowling Club has been a strong supporter of community and sporting based organisations for some time now and I am confident that the bond between the two clubs will only strengthen over time.
"We are most fortunate to have such a highly respected organisation as the bowling club on board in 2019."
The bowling club's marketing manager Nicole Blue said that the club was a proud supporter of many junior and senior sporting groups, as well as many community support initiatives.
"Having reflected on the football club's values, we were proud to be a key contributor to the growing footballing community in Nelson Bay," Ms Blue said.
"Along with the cash donation, we have committed to their 2019 season by providing free room hire for all meetings and events and providing senior and junior players with coach's awards vouchers for the duration of their 15-week season."
Ms Blue said that both clubs had a rich culture and history within the Nelson Bay community and the bowling club was looking forward to working alongside the new committee to help foster this new relationship.
Mr Reynolds said that there had been an increase in the number of female participants for the coming season.
"Martine Shaw, our female participation officer, has done a great job driving our female registrations including assembling a number of all girls teams," he said.
"The club also boasts a strong committee and an awesome technical director in Damien Hurley, ensuring we have enough accredited coaches in all grade."
After his appointment last November, Mr Reynolds said his committee would be focusing on the key areas of improvement which included getting club members out into the schools and increasing female participation; coaching and player development, with more come and try days as well as continuing such successful events as the Newcastle Jets coaching clinics; and health and inclusion, which involved Good Sports and encouraging senior players to spend more time with the juniors and providing clear pathways.
