Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance attended the scene which happened in the early afternoon when the centre was packed with shoppers. One person was treated for a minor injury.
Centre manager Colleen Mulholland-Ruiz said it was fortunate that no-one was seriously hurt.
"At all time safety was our number one priority. We managed to secure the area and call for emergency services who were quickly on the scene. Water damage has been ruled out."
Ms Mulholland-Ruiz said it was still unclear as to what caused the gyprock to crack and fall.
"We will have to wait for the builders and engineers reports," she said.
