Joining players, coaches and parents to announce the funding, Federal Member for Lyne David Gillespie said that Clarence Town which caters to more than 120 players from ages five to adult.

"At the Clarence Town club's home games there can be as many as 300 players, coaches and spectators attending our fields. In line with the club's efforts to create a safe environment for players and spectators, the club ensures that there are personnel trained in first aid available at all times," he said.

"As the club's teams travel it is especially important for their volunteer coaches to have these facilities so that players can be assured of trained officials at all venues.

"This grant will assist the Clarence Town FC host a first aid training course for all coaches and committee members at a local venue to raise their competency level so that they can carry out their duty of care for the safety of all people involved with the club.

"The club will also use the funding towards the purchase of portable first aid kits for each team so that their coaches have appropriate supplies."

Mr Gillespie also announced a $3700 grant for the Dungog Soccer Club to help the club meet the transport costs associated with training, the purchase of a new lawn mower, line marking machine and a new public address system so that everyone can know what's going on across all of the fields during competition.
