The One Mile Resort has partnered with Nelson Bay Rock 'n' Roll Club to present the first of what is hoped to turn into a yearly event, the Middle Rock 'n' Roll Festival.
"Rock 'n' roll was such a great era. Not only does it have a large following in dancing, cars and music but also memorabilia, art, fashion hair and makeup," Aimee Bowman, Middle Rock Holiday Resort event manager, said.
"So, Middle Rock thought why not bring it all together for a great day?
"The day is for the whole family those who are over night guests of Middle Rock as well as our wonderful locals."
The day will include a 1950's car show n shine, pop pin-up stalls and a fashion parade, hair and makeup artists, memorabilia stalls, food vans, bar, coffee and a dance floor.
Music will be provided by The Blue Suede Boppers and The Rattle Snakes.
The action kicks off at 10am and winds down 6pm on Saturday, May 18.
The cost to attend is $33 per adult and $12.50 per child (15 years and under).
"It is going to be a great day," Bowman said.
While it is the first rock 'n' roll style event the resort has hosted, it is not the first festival.
For the past two years it has held the Middle Rock Coastal Blues and Rhythm Festival. It returns on August 31.
