The Year 10 student at Tomaree High toured central Australia in the April school holidays with the Hunter Wind Ensemble, visiting sites including Uluru, Alice Springs and Broken Hill.
Bethany said she started playing the clarinet at eight years of age after being inspired from watching the school band while in kindergarten.
"While playing at school, one of my teachers at Tomaree High recognised my talent and encouraged me to audition for the Hunter Wind Ensemble. Everything has opened up from there," Bethany said.
"I knew I wanted to play music and I am so grateful that I followed my passion. I'm so excited about all the musical opportunities this can open.
"We have toured central Australia, competed in the National Eisteddfod in Canberra and performed at the Sydney Opera House.
"I am hoping to pursue a career in music with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra or maybe with an orchestra that records sound tracks."
Bethany's passion for music is only matched by her love of art and anything creative. Apart from the clarinet, she also plays guitar, piano, ukulele and she is an accomplished singer.
When asked about other interests in her life, Bethany said: "Just music, it's fun, relaxing, exciting ... it is everything for me."
