The chart-topping music artist will perform a selection of fan favourites mixed in with songs from his back catalogue in an all ages gig as part of the Bluewater Country Music Festival.
"I can't wait," Owen said. "I'm really looking forward to being part of the Bluewater Country Music Festival.
"It will be my first time performing Port Stephens. It's great playing in new places. I'm really excited to bring my music to my fans in the area.
"I'll be singing some of my originals, as well as other classics you know, love and enjoy."
Owen, who hails from a small Central West NSW town called Albert, burst onto the music scene in 2012 as runner-up of television talent show X Factor Australia.
He launched his debut album, Life Is A Highway, a year later. It debuted at number one on the ARIA Country Albums Chart and number five on the Australian national ARIA chart.
Owen has since released three more albums, including Friday Night which contains his first original hits such as Damn Right.
The successful album also celebrates his Indigenous background and features one of Australia's iconic female Indigenous entertainers, Christine Anu, on the title track, Proud.
His most recent album, Jason Owen Sings John Denver: The 20th Anniversary, is a labour of love which pays tribute to his grandfather and the legendary American singer-songwriter, John Denver.
Owen, who is now Central Coast-based, said he categorised himself as a "country pop" artist.
In the years since his X Factor days, Owen has entertained audiences around the country for album tours and at popular events including the Tamworth Country Music Festival, CMC Rocks the Hunter, the ACE Awards and the Sony Foundation's Wharf4Ward event, which raises funds for youth cancer care.
He also has a Golden Guitar and three Country Music Channel (CMC) Award nominations to his name in categories including New Oz Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.
Most recently, he has been back in the studio recording new material.
"I'm working on some fresh music that I can't wait to share with everyone," he said.
As for a message to his fans in the area ahead of his Bluewater appearance, Owen said: "Thank you to everyone in the area who has supported my career for the past seven years".
"I hope to see my fans from my X Factor days to now in Nelson Bay."
Owen will perform at Broughtons at the Bay from 6pm on June 8. Tickets start at $32, available from www.eventbrite.com.au.
