About $3500 was raised by the Lions club through its annual Christmas gift wrapping in Raymond Terrace MarketPlace. The club and centre alternate years in selecting where the funds are donated.
The centre, observing the Anzac centenary, opted to donate the funds to Raymond Terrace RSL Sub-Branch this year, which was used to buy a new seat.
It was installed by Port Stephens Council next to two existing seats around the Anzac Park war memorial, donated by the sub-branch and Red Cross.
Last Thursday, sub-branch members thanked Lions and MarketPlace for the donation during a small ceremony.
A plaque acknowledging the community, Marketplace and Lions for its donation will be installed on the slab underneath the seat.
Sub-branch president Vic Jones said the seat was a "gift to be treasured for many years to come".
