The Nelson Bay Gropers left it late to grab the two competition points on Saturday with half back Charlie Fielder scoring a try in injury time to defeat Singleton 22-15.

The Gropers were behind at the break trailing 10-5 however some super subs, returning players Chad Northcott and Dan Collins, added some extra grunt to the attack.
In a tough and robust game, tough prop Zion Takaua went to war with his opposite number and scored a try. Flanker Nathan Oliver was outstanding picking up the players' player award.
The seconds had a close win over the Bulls 20-14. Northcott had a very busy day and was the players' player. Flanker Cameron Redpath also had a strong game.

Mallabula Rugby League Club will host four games of semi-final football this Saturday with the Panthers involved in two of them on their home ground.
The Panthers ladies league tag team will play an elimination semi against Wangi at 11am, followed by Westy and Cardiff at 12.10pm.
Cardiff and Wangi men go head-to-head at 1.20pm and the Panthers men against West Wallsend at 3pm. Entry is $5.
The Bula boys had a bad day at the office last Saturday and were outgunned by the Morpeth Bulls 36-12.
The Panthers produced a disappointing performance with a poor completion rate, compounded by critical lapses in defence that gifted the Bulls plenty of ball.

Raymond Terrace Magpies hung tough to post a narrow 40-38 win over Wallsend-Maryland on Saturday to finish their season on a positive note.
The Terrace had a slender 18-16 lead at half time. A mounting injury toll in the second half looked set to derail their final win of the season however two tries by captain-coach Brooke Roach help to get them home.
Players' player award went to prop Josh White. The best back award went to Tarryn Roach.
The Terrace ladies tag team play their elimination semi-final at Lakeside against Dora Creek on Saturday from 10.30am.
