Also on display were perennial favourites Where's Wally, Dr Seuss plus a myriad of adventure, action and footballing heroes.
Hundreds of children, along with parents and teachers donned costumes of all colour and design as part of the theme for this year's Book Week, 'Reading is My Super Power'.
For the past three years under the guidance of assistant principal Ben Cornish, Tomaree Public has combined Book Week with Science Week, Maths Week and Literacy Week to create a popular totally terrific awesome day.
"It started three years ago in an effort to encourage more dads, or males, attend our Book Week parade, so we introduced a Blokes BBQ," Mr Cornish said.
"The mums decided they should have their own get together and so we added Mums Morning Tea and it has just grown from there.
"This year in addition to the themes and mum and dad events, we featured the finals of our 'recycled racers' competition and staged a Reading Rampage in the afternoon."
Mr Cornish said that the number of visitors grows each year, and 2019 was no different despite the rain.
