Nelson Bay's most successful women's rugby player Maya Stewart has added another string to her bow by being named in the NSW country squad to contest the Chikarovski Cup over the October long weekend.

Maya, an outside back who is equally comfortable playing on the wing or centre, will be joined by her Waratahs club teammate Katrina Barker.
Both women were members of the successful NSW Super W team earlier this year and have been joined by five other Hunter players in Emma Bradford, Britney Duff, Lakesha Nathan, Leilani Nathan and Nicole Nathan
NSW Rugby has selected three squads ahead next month's Chikarovksi Cup. An important pillar in NSW Rugby's pathway to elite women's rugby, the cup also provides an opportunity for talent identification for the 2020 Buildcorp Super W season. The squad will undertake a training program throughout September under the watchful eye of pathways coordinator and Super W coach, Matt Evrard.
