Women in real estate

While the property profession can offer women a degree of flexibility, those that succeed understand it takes a lot of work. Like any other career, you reap what you sow, but the role of the real estate agent is one that never switches off.

From weekend BBQ's to trips to the gym or conversations at the school gates, working in real estate means you're always 'on' - every interaction is a potential sale or purchase or referral.

Kim Wescott, Sales and Marketing Consultant at O'Meara Property advises young women starting in the property profession to see the power in their networks.

"Networking is always a factor in this industry, being active in your community is key." Michele Jones, The Real Estate Lady agrees, stating, "Being an agent doesn't stop at 5pm - at every party, function or social outing you will be known as a real estate agent - it's not a job it's a way of life."
