A Choir Spectacular will be staged at the Raymond Terrace Baptist Church from 2.30pm on October 20.
Funds raised through the event will be donated to The Salvation Army to support its work in Raymond Terrace, to Irrawang High School and the Baptist Chaplain for schools.
David Marsh, a member of the Hope choir and an organiser of the spectacular, said the event would be a good opportunity for music-loving members of the community to see what the two choirs could do.
"We're quite excited for this opportunity to show what we can do individually and together," Mr Marsh said.
"We did a combined performance some years ago when we were the Port Stephens Community Choir, before we combined with The Salvation Army. We had a great reception to that performance."
The Hope choir is active in the community.
It provide regular visits and concerts at aged care and special needs facilities as well as community events such as Anzac Day services, the Raymond Terrace MarketPlace Christmas launch and the King St Heritage Festival.
Entry into the concert is a donation of $10 per adult, $5 per child (aged 5 to 15) and $25 for families. There will be no Eftpos available.
The Hope choir will begin the proceedings on Sunday with a solo performance, then will be joined by the students for a combined song.
The students will perform a solo piece before and after the interval.
The Hope choir will round out the afternoon with a final, solo performance.
There will also be soloists from both groups.
A light afternoon tea will be available during the interval.
Raymond Terrace Baptist Church is located on the corner of Benjamin Lee Drive and Richardson Road.
The choir meets each Thursday 6.30pm to 8pm at The Salvation Army building in Carmichael Street, Raymond Terrace.
