A strong line up of 127 golfers hailing from Australia, New Zealand and even Japan - one of the event's largest ever - are set to contest the 2019 championship, including defending champion and recent US Womens Senior Finalist Sue Wooster, in Nelson Bay from October 21 to 25.
"This will be an exciting event for our club and [we] look forward to watching the finest senior women amateurs compete at our golf course. We encourage our members and guests to walk the course with them and cheer them on," Peter Power, golf club president at Nelson Bay, said.
Chasing her first title in the senior ranks is Morisset's Louise Mullard, the 2018 Australian Womens Mid-Amateur Champion and also NZ Mid-Amateur Champion.
Two-time winner Jacqui Morgan will look to claim a third championship on the Nelson Bay course, coming up against strong New Zealand contenders such as Robyn Boniface, Robyn Pullar and Brigit Holford.
The championship is the final event on the Senior Womens Order of Merit for 2019, with the most points up for grabs.
Helen Pascoe leads the Order of Merit, closely followed by Morgan and Sharon Dawson.
Golf Australia chairman Andrew Newbold said he was looking forward to seeing the championship play out in Port Stephens.
"We look forward to seeing some fantastic golf and presenting the trophy to a worthy champion at the end of the week," he said.
