The well loved park celebrates its birthday this month, marking 40 years since the park was first established in 1979 by Jeff and Elaine Sansom.
In 1995 the park was passed down to Jeff and Elaine's son Kent, who along with wife Leanne has continued to provide a friendly and accessible environment for visitors to learn about our native wildlife and how to protect it.
Over the years it has gone on to win several awards including Gold at the 2019 Destination Sydney Surrounds North Tourism Awards.
The Australian owned and operated business, gives exciting hands-on experiences with a wide variety of Australian native, domestic farm and exotic animals.
The easy flow of the park makes strolling among the animals an absolute pleasure and an up-front experience that really allows young and old to get among the wildlife, pat the animals and enjoy scheduled feeding times on a daily basis.
Oakvale Wildlife Park is proud to be Ecotourism certified, ZAA accredited, and have implemented an environment management plan as a part of their ongoing commitment to a sustainable future.
To celebrate its 40th birthday, Oakvale Wildlife Park will be hosting celebrations this coming weekend, with a range of activities, prizes and giveaways in line for visitors on Saturday and Sunday.
