But 'doo wups' aside, the 60s produced some of the greatest musicians and songs of the past 50 years which have endured the vastly changed music landscape.
To pay tribute to the decade, music duo Eddie Daniels and Suzie Lee will break out the bell bottoms, beehives and their voices for a Super Dooper 60's Superstars show.
The high energy and fast moving show will stop at Soldiers Point Bowling Club on Saturday, November 23.
During the show, Daniels and Lee don recognisable outfits and belt out tunes from the likes of Franki Valli, The Animals, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Walker Brothers, The Easybeats, The Rightous Brothers, Billy Thorpe, Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark.
Daniels is one of Australia's foremost vocal impressionists.
His career in the entertainment business has spanned decades and includes national and international tours, acting roles in television commercials and sitcoms, and a recording career with 10 top selling albums.
Daniels last toured to Port Stephens in May with his Battle of the Voices show where he dressed up and sang as both Roy Orbison and Gene Pitney.
It was only fitting that Daniels paired up with Lee for the 60s Superstars show. Lee is one of Australia's foremost female vocal impressionist's with years of on stage experience.
Lee adds the 'divas' touch to the Superstars show, singing the 'blast from the past' tunes such as You're my World, Son of a Preacher Man, Misty Blue, River Deep Mountain High and Stupid Cupid.
Together, Lee and Daniels faithfully recreate the sounds of the 60s and transport the audience back in time.
Tickets to see Daniels and Lee at Soldiers Point cost $20 per person and are on sale now through the club.
Doors to the November 23 show open at 7.30pm.
