This years Raymond Terrace Christmas Spectacular will be held on Sunday November 10, with all the fun starting from 10.00am
Over the years we have watched Santa arrive in style in many a guise.
He's flown in by the Westpac rescue helicopter, he's hitched a ride with Batman in the Batmobile and has arrived with the RAAF Base Williamtown in a Bushmaster troop carrier.
This year MarketPlace is proud to partner with its heroes from Raymond Terrace Fire & Rescue NSW, who will be bringing Santa to town in their Fire Truck.
The Christmas spectacular promises a fun filled day for the whole family.
The award winning Irrawang High School Drum Corp will lead the parade at 10.30am.
This will be followed by local schools, dance groups along with a cast of characters including Anger Birds Red, Chuck, Bomb, Hatchimals Draggle, Dora the Explorer, The Wiggles Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Nutcracker, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas Bunny and of course our very own MarkeeP.
The parade will travel down Bourke Street into the lane next to the Sportsground and then into MarketPlace.
With the success of the Show N Shine over the past couple of years, getting bigger each year we are bringing it back and plan for the numbers to be even bigger.
MarketPlace Raymond Terrace Centre Manager, Ms Mulholland-Ruiz said: "This year's Raymond Terrace Christmas Spectacular is all about local heroes and giving back to the community groups that do so much for our local residents.
"In the past three years we have raised funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Leukemia Foundation and Newcastle Legacy raising over $25,000 in total.
"This is done is just four hours each year. This year we are raising funds for our very hardworking community groups, The Raymond Terrace Lions and Rotary Club."
"You would be amazed at the work these groups do, not only for our local area but afar as well, not forgetting the great work they our doing for our farmers and many others," commented Ms Mulholland-Ruiz.
All funds raised from the Show N Shine as well as donations throughout the day will go to both the groups. It's a way to say thank you and support them to keep doing the great work they do.
Inside the centre, shoppers will be able meet and greet all their favourite characters, Angry Birds Red, Chuck, Bomb, Hatchimals Draggle, Dora the Explorer, The Wiggles Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Nutcracker, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas Bunny, and the very popular MarkeeP.
You will also be able to get into the Christmas groove with the dancing Santa's. Kids will be able to have their faces painted or get creative with Sandwizard or have the balloon twister create something magical to take home.
"It's also a great day to kick start your Christmas shopping with retailers holding a massive One Day Santa Sale, Ms Mulholland-Ruiz said.
Ms Mulholland-Ruiz said the day takes months of planning from the everyone in the MarketPlace Team.
"We would like to say a very big thank you to the sponsors who also help make the day possible; MarketPlace Raymond Terrace Owners and Retailers, Raymond Terrace Bowling Club, Port Stephens Council, Port Stephens Examiner, Carline Mufflers Raymond Terrace, Bursons Auto Parts Raymond Terrace, Shannon's Insurance, Shine & Shine Carwash and M&M Paint and Panel.
