With over 50 stalls this year, Tilli Fest is expecting hundreds of locals and visitors to turn up and enjoy a great weekend of entertainment.

Tilligerry Peninsula will be hosting their annual Tiiligerry Festival now known as Tilli Fest on the shores of Lemon Tree Passage in Henderson Park on Saturday November 16.

The focus for this year's event is 'no waste' with event organisers encouraging visitors to sort their rubbish so that waste can be appropriately recycled.

This event showcases the regions local towns of Salt Ash, Tanilba Bay, Mallabulla and Lemon Tree Passage, sharing its rich history and heritage and the local environment.

Festival activities include market stalls, carnival rides, demonstrations/games, markets, music, dancing, community group displays, food and a sausage sizzle. The Curious Legends shoulder puppets will delight the crowds this year as they light up and entertain visitors by night.

There will also be local community organisations that showcase not only the areas history but also what is on offer in these communities for the present day.

The day promises plenty of great entertainment as well as a sail past of local boats and of course the firework display.

For green thumbed visitors, this years' festival will also be running a garden ramble, featuring 5 gardens to date, including Tanilba House and Heaven Gardens at Salt Ash.

Any local gardeners keen to open their own space are welcome to contact Fran Corner via Facebook to get involved.

Till Fest gives thanks to Port Stephens Council, Local Land Services The Bowling Club and Bunnings for their ongoing support.

State heritage listed home, Tanilba House built in 1831 will open its gardens during Tilli Fest this year for visitors to explore and enjoy.
