Medowie Cricket Club will get back into the swing of the season on Saturday, January 18, with a pink stumps day.

In the first round for 2020, the Medowie club's D3 team will don pink in the match against Newcastle City in a fund-raiser to support the McGrath Foundation. The match will commence at Yulong Oval, on Kirrang Drive, at 1.30pm.
Pink stumps and balls will be used for the game and all are welcome to head along to support the team and the cause. There will be a sausage sizzle and cold drinks available for purchase, as well as a variety a small sweet treats.
There will also be a "100 Club" number draw, each number costs $5 and the winning number will receive 50 per cent of the takings. There will be small donations boxes at the field with all proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.
There will also be McGrath Foundation hats, bandannas, wristbands and other items for sale.
Pink stumps day is a McGrath Foundation initiative that raises money to place McGrath Breast care nurses in communities across Australia. Any donations or support is greatly appreciated.
The Medowie team will be eager to claim victory over Newcastle City on Saturday.
Medowie Cricket Club caters for all ages and abilities and is open to both boys and girls equally. The club is fortunate to have a turf wicket at Ferodale Oval and two synthetic wickets on an upgraded Yulong Oval plus four new practice nets at Ferodale.
