Proceeds from the Bushfire Appeal Golf Day will be evenly split between the Port's Rural Fire Service brigades and the Salvation Army to help those in need.
The event will tee-off at 12.30pm with teams of four in a shotgun start.
Playing a total of 18 holes, registration is now open for teams and opportunities are available for corporate sponsors as well. Cost is $200 per team or $500 for corporate sponsorship.
"The Port Stephens community knows first-hand the devastating effects fires can bring on people, properties and wildlife. That's why we stand together with our fellow communities through this devastating bushfire crisis to show our support," Cr Palmer said.
"I encourage our community to get behind this great initiative to raise money for the RFS and for those who have been directly affected by these fires."
Golf club president Peter Power said that "as a community we can make a difference to the bushfire ravaged areas, while also providing resources for our local RFS stations to assist the Port Stephens area in any possible future emergency".
General manager Trevor Harrison said that pooling the club's resources with Port Stephens Council and the wider community would ensure that maximum funds could be raised to assist where required.
