About 300 customers filed through the doors of Heatherbrae's newest food offering, Guzman Y Gomez, within an hour of it opening on Thursday.

While keen to check out the freshly established Mexican fast food restaurant, customers were also enthusiastic about taking advantage of GYG's offer of free burritos and burrito bowls starting from 12pm and running until 7pm.
While waiting in line in 40-degree heat to get inside the busy store, which is located off Masonite Road next to KFC and the BP service station, staff handed out waters, coffee, snacks and balloons.
Inside the store, GYG staff directed traffic to the counters while a strong crew worked furiously behind the scenes to prepare orders quickly.
Cries of number orders carried throughout the store, which was filled with customers waiting for their food and others sitting down to enjoy their meal.
One of the loudest drawcards into the store, however, was the Mariachi band. A trio of performers, dressed in traditional Mexican charro suits, performed outside the store in the carpark.
