Sea Shelter will present a night of stand-up comedy at Soldiers Point Bowling Club on Saturday, March 14 which will feature the hilarious talents of Sydney and Newcastle comedians.
"One of our volunteers, Shiara Henderson, suggested the idea of a comedy night as she regularly attends the comedy festivals in Newcastle," Sea Shelter volunteer Katrina Garth said.
"The aim was to create a fun night of laughs for adults with raffles, ocean themed cocktails and raise money for Sea Shelter."
Sydney comedian Kabba will headline Sea Shelter's Night of Comedy, which is a show for ages 18 plus.
Kabba, who frequents comedy events in Sydney and Newcastle, is known for his impersonations and knockabout mate attitude.
Also on the bill is Newcastle comedians Elliott Stewart, James Connors, Luke Dillon and Liam Callen.
In August 2019 the four set off on the 'Comedy Detour' around NSW and Queensland and performed at the Adelaide and Newcastle Fringe festivals.
Stewart, a 2019 RAW comedy national finalist, is described as an 'adorkable' comedy wunderkind with a frenetic delivery and a darkly skewed wit.
Connors is described as a 'wisecracking wild man' with a polished delivery and no-holds-barred act while Dillon is known as a self-deprecating lad with a laid back stage presence and a frank joke-telling style.
Callen is an alternative comedian, whose performance style is characterised mainly by his self-deprecating persona and sardonic wit.
The night will be emceed by English comedian Kyle Legacy.
Legacy made his debut on Russel Brand's hit show Brand X in 2012 and has been on stage ever since.
He tours the globe with the popular comedy collective Laugh Mob.
Known as 'the crowd work king' for his skill in getting involved in the audience, Legacy has been a hit on the Australian comedy circuit, including at the 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Tickets, $25 per person, are on sale now through the Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters website: sharkandrayencounters.rezdy.com.
Seats are limited so early bookings are a must.
The show kicks off at 7pm.
