Clean Up Australia is calling on Port Stephens residents, groups, schools and businesses to sign up and step up this Clean Up Australia Day, which returns on Sunday, March 1.

Individuals looking to don some gloves and do their part on Sunday are being invited to head to cleanupaustraliaday.org.au and join a registered clean up site. As of Tuesday, there were more than 20 registered sites across Port Stephens.
Ocean and Coastal Care Initiatives is seeking volunteers to join its clean up at Mary's Beach, Soldiers Point running 9am-11am. The group ask volunteers to wear closed shoes and to take hats, sunscreen, mosquito spray and water. Gloves will be supplied.
There is still time to register a site in Port Stephens. Head to the Clean Up Australia Day website to 'create a clean up'.
Clean Up Australia Day, the nation's largest community-based environmental event, turns 30 this year.
