Why, you may ask, is the fishing on one beach better than another?
Fishing returns over many years, from the best local beach fishos, confirm that Stockton is the place to go to target mulloway, bream, whiting, tailor, salmon and flathead.
Worms, pipis and strips of fresh mullet are the preferred baits, fishing a rising tide on dusk and dawn.
I don't know why Stockton is the best but whatever it is, if you have a 4x4 vehicle and permit, Stockton Beach is the ideal place to spend time with the family.
Just ask the Roberts family visiting from Scone with young Jack, 5, and Will, 3, having a ball.
With a little help from dad James, the boys bounced beautiful bream, salmon and a small mulloway up the sand. You can bet that they will return.
Competition time. I have two Stinker Fishing T-shirts to be won. All you need to do is draw or paint my boat Stinkpot on the water.
There are two sections: Under-5 and Under-10. Email your best efforts to stinkerfishing@yahoo.com before the end of August. Winners will be announced early in September.
