A 28-year-old man was due to appear in court on Thursday to face drug and ammunition charges following his arrest at a Raymond Terrace residence police allegedly found a hydroponic cannabis setup.

Following an investigation by officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District drug unit into the cultivation of prohibited drugs, investigators executed a crime scene warrant at a home in Sturgeon Street, Raymond Terrace about 11am on Wednesday, August 26.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized 12 mature cannabis plants inside a hydroponic setup in addition to steroids and ammunition.
The hydroponic setup was dismantled, police said.
A short time later, a 28-year-old man arrived at the property and was placed under arrest by police.
He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with cultivate prohibited plant, possess prohibited drug and possess ammunition without permit.
He was refused bail to and was due to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Thursday, August 27.
The Sturgeon Street cannabis plants were discovered after police located and seized a separate hydroponic setup in Elwin Road on Tuesday.
Police officers attended the Raymond Terrace residence in Elwin Road looking for a 30 year old man wanted on warrants.
Upon arrival police allegedly discovered a hydroponic setup with "a number of cannabis plants growing in several areas within the residence", police said.
A crime scene was established and the plants seized.
The 30 year old man was later arrested at another location. He was charged with "numerous matters", police said, and faced court on August 25.
Investigations will continue into the seized drugs.
