Police have charged a disqualified motorcyclist with speeding and dangerous riding after he was allegedly detected travelling more than twice the speed limit at Bobs Farm.

About 10.40pm on Monday, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers were conducing speed enforcement duties along Nelson Bay Road at Bobs Farm when they allegedly detected a Yamaha R3 motorcycle travelling 160km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Police will alleged that when officers went to pull the rider over, the motorcycle increased his speed to 200km/h before stopping near Cromarty Lane.
The rider, a 19-year-old Medowie man, was arrested and taken to Nelson Bay Police Station where he was charged with drive whilst disqualified, driving in a manner dangerous and exceed speed by more than 45km/h.
The Medowie man has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court on November 30.
