A scaled down meeting, with numbers down to 40 from the usual 80 to 120, was held at Nelson Bay Bowling Club earlier in October.
New members Alan and Marg Leisk, Gaye MacKay, Lois and Steve Homann and Don and Monica Hardgrove were inducted by club president David Wilson and made welcome by the gathering.
Mr Wilson gave the speaker presentation on the impact of electric vehicle development on today's motor car accessories, and the further robotic research being implemented on this rapidly changing industry that will affect many in the not too distant future.
The Probus club of Port Stephens still continues its branch activities of walking, snooker, golf and fishing.
Probian Anne Shaw's impromptu gathering at Bagnal Beach Reserve each month has proven a hit for the 20 participants that have enjoyed tea and chats, trivia and bingo.
Snooker is another activity that is still ongoing. Avid members are waiting until the club's full program of events can be resumed.
Visitors are most welcome to join the club and become involved in existing activities that carry on through the COVID-19 pandemic.
