School formals may have looked a little different this year due to COVID health restrictions, but they were no less glamorous for Port Stephens' Year 12 students.

For many graduating students, the end-of-year celebrations took on extra meaning following a challenging 2020.
Tomaree High School students celebrated with an event at the school's multi purpose centre which was catered by year 11 hospitality students and year 10 food technologists under the guidance of TAS head teacher Donna Smithson.
"It's been a very challenging year but we are glad we could celebrate the success this outstanding group has achieved in such trying circumstances. It was a special night and was enjoyed by everyone involved," Tomaree's Year 12 adviser Joel Ross said.
At Hunter River High, a night of presentations, speeches and awards reflecting on 13 years of schooling was conducted at Harbourview Function Centre in Newcastle.
Year 12 adviser Warwick Rolfe said that students took advantage of the opportunity to celebrate in style, after enduring a very challenging year.
Irrawang High's Year 12 students also finished the year in style, celebrating at Newcastle's Merewether Surf House.
St Philip's Christian College (Salamander Bay) marked the occasion with a graduation dinner at Whitesands, Shoal Bay.
Medowie Christian School's Year 12 cohort held their formal at Murray's Brewery in Bobs Farm.
