The Raymond Terrace Roosters are seeking registrations for male and female players aged 5 to 17 and for an 18 years men's team.
The club, based at Lakeside Sports Complex, is also seeking female players aged 11 to 17 to join its women's tackle teams, playing in the Hunter Valley Combined competition, this season.
"The women's tackle league has received great interest this year and we are predicting numbers to double as momentum continues," club registrar Adam Nicholas said.
"Raymond Terrace Roosters have dedicated women's tackle league teams for an only female competition from the ages of 11 years to 17 years. These young women will be available to play in competitions in the women's tackle league for under 13's, 15's and 17's only."
In the Newcastle Junior Rugby League competition, girls can play in mixed competitions up until 11 years. Young men interested in playing in the under 18's age group are being strongly encouraged to register.
"We have received great interest in submitting a team," Nicholas said. "We will have trial games kicking off soon and the official competition season is scheduled to commence May 1."
The Roosters will introduce an Advanced Player Development Program to the club this season.
The program is designed to identify junior players within the club who display skill, integrity, work ethic and team work and expose them to elite level coaches and programs to enhance these skills and give them the best opportunity to further their rugby league pathway.
Anyone interested in playing or volunteering with the club is being asked to register by July 1 on the Play Rugby League website.
More information can be found on the Raymond Terrace Roosters Facebook page or by phoning Nicholas on 0432 187 010.
Nelson Bay Junior Rugby League Club is also seeking player registrations for its under 6 to under 17 teams.
A registration day will be held at the club's home base of Salamander Sports Complex from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, February 13 and again between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday, February 18.
The Marlins have tentatively booked trial games for March 21, March 28 (versus East Maitland) and April 17 before the season kicks off on May 1.
The club has filled a majority of its coaching positions for 2021, but has vacancies in the under 6 and under 17 teams. If you are interested in coaching, email secretary@nbjrlmarlins.org.au. For more information, go to the Nelson Bay Junior Rugby League Facebook page.
