Set up by Ms Oakhill, a mother and business owner herself, to provide a supportive network for like-minded women, the group has swelled to more than 140 members and has been a platform for others in the Medowie community to gain the confidence to launch their businesses.
Having seen the success of the Mumpreneurs model, Ms Oakhill and friend, mother and business owner Jacki Ashpole have combined forces to create a new network - Medowie Gamechangers.
"Medowie is rapidly growing and changing, and with it many new businesses are opening," Mrs Ashpole said.
"With Medowie Gamechangers, we want to create a strong local network of support and referral. We want to know who the local tradie is, who to call in an emergency, to keep money in the community and to support each other."
Medowie Gamechangers is not like traditional networking groups or events. It is a group for connecting, referring work, asking for help, coaching, mentoring and supporting business, Ms Oakhill said.
And it is open to anyone, whether they operate a small business or are in the "idea phase".
"We expanded the Mumpreneurs arm to be more inclusive after receiving feedback that there are a lot of males wanting to experience the network that Medowie Mumpreneurs has created," Ms Oakhill said. "There are people out there who want to start a businesses, who want to be entrepreneurs, but aren't sure how. We want to help them and we can help them."
Ms Oakhill, who runs Helpful Love plus a celebrant business and meditation studio in Medowie, said she hopes Medowie Gamechangers replicates the success of Medowie Mumpreneurs. This was echoed by Mrs Ashpole who runs The Bar Health And Fitness and has launched a nutritional coaching business.
The launch of Medowie Gamechangers will be held at Medowie Social on Friday, April 30 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Tickets, $74 per person and can be purchased through Eventbrite, cover the cost of venue hire, speaker, finger food platters and entertainment.
Happiness coach Declan Edwards - a thought-leader in the field of wellbeing and the Founder of BU Coaching - will guest speak for 30 minutes at the beginning of the night.
The rest of the event is open to attendees to chat amongst themselves and get to know the Medowie business community.
