The arrest of a Fullerton Cove man during a traffic stop in Newcastle on Friday has lead to one of the Hunter's most significant drug busts "for some time", Port police said.

About 5.30pm on May 7, a 58-year-old man from Fullerton Cove was stopped as part of a RBT operation on Maitland Road at Sandgate.
Port Stephens-Hunter Police District officers spoke with the man before conducting a search of his vehicle.
According to Port police, the officers allegedly located close to 4 kilograms of methylamphetamine, a drug commonly referred to as ice, and a "substantial amount" of cocaine in the vehicle.
The drugs were seized, the man was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station for questioning.
A short time later a search warrant was executed at the man's Fullerton Cove home.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized further large quantities of prohibited drugs, a large sum of cash, silver and gold bars and silver bullions - all of which were seized.
The man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug - large commercial quantity.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday.
Police inquires into the matter continue.
