The Fire and Rescue NSW Open Day will return on May 15, with the Lakeside Leisure Centre-based fire station open from 10am to 2pm.
Raymond Terrace Fire and Rescue acting captain Giacomo Arnott said the open day is a chance to meet a firefighter, "see our trucks in action, check out our equipment and find out more about what we do".
"Our local firefighters are on call every single minute of every day, year-round, protecting our local community from fires, chemical spills, car crashes, natural disasters and everything in between," he said.
"We put out fires, rescue people, clean up spills and work with local people to improve fire safety in their homes and in the wider community. The open day is a great opportunity to come and meet the local team who do all of this work.
"We will have our trucks and gear out and on display, and we will be armed with many fire safety messages for you and your family.
"After you visit the King Street Heritage Festival, bring the family out to our fire station at 5 Leisure Way see the team. There's plenty going on this weekend in Raymond Terrace, and we'd love to be part of your weekend plans."
Only the Raymond Terrace station will be open on Saturday. There will be static displays, children's activities, information on how to avoid a fire during winter and a barbecue fired up for sausage sandwiches.
