Committee member Christine Walton said that the current climate and the uncertainty of public health orders over the coming months made it difficult to run the popular fund-raising event, which was due to take place at Nelson Bay Bowling Club.
"We have been lucky enough to get some donations to help with the new breast cancer patients we have to look after," Ms Walton said.
"We now look forward to your company during next year's Breast Cancer Month in October 2022.
"It is hoped that we can organise a bigger and better celebration for our annual In the Pink breakfast next year, and the opportunity to raise funds to assist the many breast cancer patients in our area as they journey through their breast cancer treatments."
Ms Walton said that the group was still on the look-out for new committee members to ensure the future of the volunteer organisation.
"We have been struggling to find volunteers willing to devout a few hours a month who are needed otherwise we will fold after 20 years of existence. We are hoping to get some new faces to help with the decision making," she said.
The local support group offers assistance to residents on the Tomaree Peninsula who have breast cancer.
They provide complimentary support with transport to and from cancer-related medical appointments, telephone and face-to-face support and other duties such as house cleaning, lawn mowing and child mining.
Also provided are items such as wigs, scarves hand-knitted lightweight cotton prosthesis and underarm cushion packs.
Ms Walton said that meetings were conducted once a month and that volunteers could nominate how they wished to participate as a member.
