The operation is to "reinforce the sand dunes that have been undercut by erosion".
Works began on September 20 and will continue until September 26 with the beach closed intermittently from 6.30am to 4.30pm each day.
A number of Port Stephens Council works are currently being carried out across the LGA including construction of shared pathways at the Avenue of Allies, Tanilba Bay (between Rigney Rd and the northern gate), Lemon Tree Passage Road, Mallabula (between Crawley Cres and Blanch St) and Nelson Bay Road, Fern Bay (between Taylor and Rankin Rds).
The derelict amenities in Ross Walbridge Reserve, Raymond Terrace have been demolished.
Demolition works in Stuart Park, Hinton have primarily been completed. The portable kiosk building has been removed from site.
Blockwork on the amenities pavilion in the the Tomaree Sports Complex upgrade has now been complete and work has begun on the multipurpose pavilion while masonry works at nearby Tomaree Aquatic Centre are almost finished.
The amenities upgrades at George Reserve, Salamander Bay have been complete.
