Born out of frustration with postal delays and the wish to support local, Kim Oakhill and Kelly Pegg from Medowie Mumpreneurs are creating an online catalogue that will feature links to take the reader to online stores and shop directly from Port businesses.
"As small business owners ourselves, we are both very passionate about supporting small businesses, especially local. We both became concerned about the current delays we experienced with postage and courier services as a result of increased demand in online shopping and thought it would be a wonderful idea to pull together a one stop shop of local, small businesses to shop from for Christmas this year," Ms Oakhill said.
"The added bonus of supporting small, local business is that most offer free delivery so we thought this had so many positives. It would keep money in the hands of locals, to boost the local economy, [and] it would support families in Port Stephens."
Port businesses wishing to advertise their products of services in the catalogue are asked to contact kim@kimoakhill.com or littlepegg@outlook.com by October 22 with their business name, a short blurb on the product/service, category it would be suited to (gifts for him, her, teen, kids, home) an image of the product/s, link to online store and any discount codes.
The catalogue will go live October 29.
