RAYMOND Terrace District Cricket Club has started its season slowly with just two rounds played in the Maitland senior competition however the amount of family involvement in and around the club has been very successful.
From the Woolworths Blast junior program on Friday nights all the way through to first grade, the club has had major family contributions.
On Saturday three Lions teams all played at home at King Park and saw seven father and son combinations across the grades. Fifth grade saw Richard and Rhys Hay, Chris and Darcy Lawrence and Kelvin and Riley Cadman on the same team. Third grade had Paul Malone and son James, Mick and Lance Ackerman and Matt and Bailey Holstein. Second grade saw Nigel Callan take the field with son Tom. Meanwhile, first grade saw brothers Brayden and Jaxon Brooks take the field together.
The Terrace are still chasing players for their under 14 team. Girls keen to take part in the female competition are encouraged to check out the Raymond Terrace District Cricket Club Facebook page and be part of the strong family club.
